Industrial lighting accounts for a substantial cost in; typically 50% to 70% of the total electrical energy spend within warehouses. Significantly, even within production facilities where the majority of electrical energy is used by AC induction motors, the retrofit of conventional high intensity discharge (HID) lighting can save approximately 5% to 10% of the total electrical energy costs.

Energy efficient retrofit lighting projects are an easy win; typically saving 60% to 80% of the lighting spend. A well planned and implemented project will cause minimal disruption to the facility in question.

In recent times, many companies have set energy reduction targets in the region of 5% to 15% of overall electrical energy spend. It is therefore clear that even in a production facility, that a full retrofit lighting project can meet corporate energy reduction targets, causing minimal disruption and delivering short payback times.
